simple pleasures...a smile or a sms from the people I love, a simple hello in the morning, a nice cup of coffee in the morning, small little things that seem insignificant are always the things that make you happy.
food...good food makes me happy and it doesn't necessarily have to be expensive.

I didn't go to the library in the end yesterday coz it looked like it was going to pour in the morning. Decided to just sleep in.

Had dinner with a close friend, awwww...how IMHSM! Jets around alot so meet ups are hard these days. Went to PS cafe, the place sure looks different at night, nice! I must say the food's alright only but the desserts are nice. I had a chocolate one, can't remember the name but it's heavenly...I won't say no to desserts!

Spent our time catching up, nothing beats chatting in person as compared to phonecalls, emails & msn. J bought me a pressie, it's a diamante cat necklace, sooo cuteee and sweeeet! (^,^)

We went for coffee at Coffee Club in town after dinner, catching up part 2. After CC, we went for prata, catching up part 3...the night's still young!

Had a wonderful time, went home at 3+am this morning, couldn't sleep till 6am, too much caffeine & food! Had to wake up at 8am to send J off, sigh...J's off to Hong Kong today, was only here for a day! Flight's at 11am, tried very hard not to cry but still teared in the end, this is why I dislike sending people off at the airport so much. It's a love hate thing, you wanna see the person before he leaves but yet you don't want to see him go! It's a sad feeling. IGMHSM!

Went shopping with my mom after sending J off. We went Taka first, had MOS burger for lunch again, I wanna eat the curry chicken foccasia before they take it off the menu. Bought a Japanese magazine at Kino. Went Paragon after that, I bought a bag for my mom and as for me, I bought a pair of 'limited edition' dark blue jeans from Marks & Spencer at half the price and a pair of black & white flowery sandals at NOVO at 20% discount, nice? ;)

We went to Vivocity after that, had dinner at this restaurant call "The Mussel Guys". I wanted to go to the HK Kim Gary restaurant but there was a long queue so we decided not to queue. It was the BIGGEST MISTAKE!

I had the Seafood Spaghetti set dinner ($13.90++) while my mom had the Sirloin Steak and King Prawn set dinner ($16.90++). The picture looks nice but don't be fooled! My pasta was quite bad, the squid's fishy, so was the prawn. There were only 1 prawn, 1 mussel and 4 small pieces of squid, very miserable! I don't mind that the ingredients are little but they have to be at least fresh! I spat out the prawn and squid the moment I bite it!

My mom's steak was slightly nicer but the rice was soggy and the vege dull & tasteless! I don't see what's so "king" size about the prawn either. Everything was made worse by the bad service! I had to wait at the door for 2 mins for them to get us a table, I was puzzled coz there wasn't anyone in front of us and there were alot of empty seats so I thought ok, maybe it's reserved or they're getting us a table nearer to the window, I'm fine with it. When I went it, true enough it wasn't crowded at all, only 2 tables by the windows were reserved, I got the 2 seater beside one of the reserved table, so much for a nice view. Strangely the place's not crowded at all and this was 6+pm, dinner time where everywhere else was crowded. I thought, fine, I should at least give it a try and not condemn the place first.

We placed our order and to be honest, I was initially quite pleased when the soup and the tea came quite fast. Then the horror started! They didn't bring my mom's coffee, I had to ask 2x before it came, I asked for ice water and once again, I had to ask 2x before it came, at this point, I was already quite pissed with the food and service and when I asked for the bill, guessed what? I had to ask for it 2 freaking x again!!! All these plus I had to wait 10 mins for them to get the card back to me and it wasn't even crowded at all! Only about 10-13 tables were occupied and they had about 7 staff around! I can't imagine if it was full!

It so happens that a lady (seemed like the boss) was entertaining her guests next to us and I overheard her telling them that the chef used to work at Michelangelo's. She arranged for set dinners for them and a plate of mussels with cheese, wa, how "nice". My goodness, I hope I didn't hear her right about the chef coz it certainly has tarnished his reputation in my eyes if it's true...hmm...on the flipside, maybe there's a reason why he/she left Michel. I was so tempted to give her a piece of my feedback!

Review: NOT WORTH patronising, out of 5 stars, I will only give it half a star (for the view if you get the the window seat)! I'm never going back there!

On a happier note, my mom and I continue shopping after dinner. We went to Tangs, I bought my mom a pair of shoes, my friend a necklace for her upcoming birthday (I couldn't decide whether to get her a beaded one or a normal necklace with pendant. Ended up choosing a cream shell butterfly pendant with crystals that comes with a necklace for her, sorry no pic, it's nicely gift wrapped already) and for myself, a pair of heels, it's at 70% off, I couldn't resist, isn't it sweet.

Spent quite a fair bit today but hey, my mom's happy, I'm happy so it's worth it!

I'm very tired now, lack of sleep, reached home at about 10pm....time to rest.

    IMJ...
