Dinner at Morton's Steakhouse! I was so looking forward to it after hearing all the hype about it being the best steakhouse but only to be disappointed. As appetizer, three of us shared a lobster bisque and crab cake (which is the size of a small orange and cost $37), we wanted to save our stomach for the beef. The lobster bisque didn't turned out great, it had a bitter taste to it but the crab cake wasn't too bad. For the much awaited steak, I ordered a medium ribeye steak but when when it came, it was slightly burnt and it turned out to be more medium well then medium. It had a bitter "chao da" taste to it and I was sorely disappointed! I know it's bad to send food back but hey, for the price they're charging, it had better be a good tasting piece of beef cooked to perfection! The 2nd time I made no mistake and ordered a medium rare instead, I'm not taking any chances, which shouldn't have been the case in the first place.

While waiting for my new steak to arrive, I started on my jumbo asparagus, which has to be ordered separately and cost $25 by the way and was met with another disappointment. It was overcooked (till it turned a tad yellow) and the dressing way too sour for my liking.

The new piece of steak finally came (as you can tell I didn't bother taking a pic) and it was definitely much better this time though it's not as soft and juicy as I would have imagined it to be. My colleague who ordered the fillet mignon was disappointed as well and had to send it back too! Hers was slightly overcooked from the medium she ordered and it looked dry when it's supposed to be the choice tenderloin, the most tender cut!

My verdict: I am totally disappointed as I had higher expectations in terms of the quality and the way the steaks are cooked. Let's just say I am certainly not willing to fork out $100 for a piece of steak which is not grilled to perfection.
